Features

One-click extraction

Identify and download active VTT transcription files from your current tab in a single click.

Universal compatibility

Works on any modern HTML5 video player. The extension monitors network traffic to find caption tracks.

Live preview

Preview extracted transcripts directly in the popup before downloading. Copy, save, or skip in seconds.

Privacy first

All extraction happens locally in your browser. We never store, transmit, or track your subtitle data.

Lightweight

Native code. No background load when you're not watching videos.

Where it works

The players we have tested and confirmed.

YouTube

Auto-generated and manual captions, in every available language.

Kaltura / MediaSpace

The caption system behind many university lecture portals, including videos embedded in Canvas.

Wistia

Pulled per language straight from the Wistia media API โ€” the video never has to play.

Vimeo

Captured while the video plays. On multi-language videos you may get more than the track you selected.

Loom

Shared recordings, including players rendered inside a Shadow DOM.

Whop

Course and community videos on Whop's Mux-based player.

Skool

Classroom lessons, captured in full rather than only the part that has buffered.

Teachable

Courses on Teachable's own Wistia player. Courses on the newer Hotmart player are not supported yet.

Mux

Any Mux-hosted player that ships an HLS subtitle track.

Bunny Stream

Bunny CDN video with WebVTT captions.

presto-player

The WordPress video player, including its HLS streams.

Beyond the list above, the extension works on any site that serves a standard caption track โ€” an HTML5 <track> element, a WebVTT or SRT file, or an HLS stream with a subtitle playlist. That covers a large share of course platforms, membership sites and self-hosted players, including ones we have never seen.

What it cannot do: captions have to exist. If a video ships without a caption track, or the captions are burned into the picture, there is nothing to export. Two platforms deliver them in a form we cannot read yet โ€” Teachable courses running on the newer Hotmart player, and Canvas Studio.
